Pound the Pavement #38: House Fighters
The image of the “fighting house” is featured in many forms in this zine, including the title itself. In the same way that the Ateliers Populaire in France in 1968 created the iconic “occupied factory graphic by merging Isotype’s factory icon with a red flag, European squatters in the 1980s assembled their house with the raised fist from their own bits of iconography. The images featured in this zine show various iterations of “House Fighters” and where they came from.
