Armed by Design is a stunning full-color, quadrilingual exploration of the profound graphic and intellectual legacy of the Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Asia, Africa, and Latin America (OSPAAAL). The volume brings together artists and thinkers from around the world to reflect on the impacts of OSPAAAL’s work on regional movements, including in the Arab world and Korea, design iconography, the evolution of tricontinentalism, our present-day relationship to OSPAAAL posters as a commodity, and authorship and reproduction. Join us for a conversation about the volume alongside its editors and contributors including Josh MacPhee (Interference Archive), Sarah Seidman (Museum of the City of New York), and Sohl Lee (Stony Brook University) in conversation with Jordana Mendelson (NYU, Director of KJCC) and moderated by Auriane Benabou (NYU).
